About

Seven countries.
One throughline.

Growing up as a diplomat's kid means you spend your formative years learning how to become a local in places where you'll always be slightly foreign. I did this seven times over — seven schools, seven sets of friends, seven versions of myself adapting to somewhere new. It was disorienting and wonderful in equal measure, and it turned out to be the best education I never planned for.

These days I work as a data engineer. I build pipelines, untangle schemas, and figure out how to make messy information behave. It's not so different from what I learned as a kid: find the underlying system, understand its logic, make it work. I just do it with SQL now instead of a phrase book.

I speak a few languages with varying levels of confidence. I play guitar — my neighbors have developed strong opinions about this. I take fitness seriously. And I have watched certain romcoms more times than I will admit in a professional context, because I think kindness and warmth are seriously underrated and stories that celebrate them deserve more credit.

The thing growing up everywhere teaches you is that most people, everywhere, are trying to do the same things: build something meaningful, connect with the people around them, and figure out what's for dinner. I find that endlessly reassuring.

"The best thing about growing up everywhere is that you stop being surprised by new beginnings."

Aaj Ka Samachar आज का समाचार

The idea came from watching my dadu — who has Parkinson's — navigate his phone to find the news and his old songs. For a generation that grew up with Doordarshan and All India Radio, the internet quietly asks too much. Aaj Ka Samachar pulls live headlines from NDTV, Times of India and Indian Express, and uses AI to distil them into plain, unhurried summaries in Hindi and English — the way you might explain the day to someone you love, over chai, without rushing. It pairs with a live Vividh Bharati stream. Because the news has always gone down better with old film songs.
